115 g Butter
2 Tbs Sugar
2 Tbs Oil
¼ Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Vanilla Essence
1 Egg, beaten
2 Cups Flour
2 Tsp Baking Powder
1tin (385g) pie apples
1 Tbs Flour
4 Tbs Brown Sugar
2 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
½ Tsp Nutmeg
1 Cup Water
Switch oven on to 180, spray your cake pan with spray and bake.
Wash and then boil the raisins for 15 min, remove from water and set aside.
Mix the soft butter and sugar together until creamy.
Add Oil, Vanilla Essence and the beaten egg.
Siff in the flour and baking powder.
Keep mixing and then knead it all together into a dough. Divide into two.
Line the pan with the first half of the dough. Set the other half aside.
Next up, the filling:
Mix the apples and raisins with flour, sugar, cinnamon and water.
Pour your filling into the pan.
Now take the remaining dough and flake off smaller pieces to “crumble” over the top.
If you’d like you can garnish with almond flakes and extra cinnamon on top too.
Bake & Serve:
Bake for about 45 min, to your preference - the longer you leave it the crispier the crumble gets on top. Let it stand for about 15 min before serving.
Serve with a dusting of icing sugar, cinnamon and vanilla ice cream.
